Italian Olive Bread – A Great Appetizer for a Wine Tasting

What we need:

  • 250 g flour
  • 50 ml olive oil
  • 3 tablespoons hot water
  • ¼ teaspoon sugar
  • 50 ml dry white wine
  • 100 g cheese, grated
  • 200 g bacon
  • 50g black olives and 50g green olives
  • about ½ tsp salt
  • 1 sachet dried yeast
  • olive Oil and flour for the baking dish

Preparation:
Put the flour, olive oil, white wine, salt in a bowl. Dissolve the yeast and the sugar in 3 tablespoons warm water.  Knead it into a smooth dough. Then add the bacon plus the halved olives. Let the dough  rest for 20 min at 50 ° C in the oven. Next place the dough in an oiled, floured loaf pan and bake at 190 ° C in preheated oven 50 minutes.
